- "This research was focused on recovery and reutilization of scrap polystyrene in wood preservation. The experimental studies were at developing and optimizing an effective methodology for infusing polystyrene and methyl soyate in wood. Such infusion was expected to retard water penetration and retention in the treated wood. Potential reduction of termite infestation and fungal growth on the treated wood were also examined. The effect of methyl soyate - polystyrene treatment on the mechanical properties of the wood was also examined."--Introduction, leaf 13
